Is MuslimSG affiliated with MUIS or Muslim.sg?+
No. MuslimSG is an independent community project. We use the publicly published MUIS prayer timetable and link to Muslim.sg articles with attribution, but we are not connected to either organisation.
Are the prayer times accurate?+
They are taken directly from the official MUIS 2026 timetable for Singapore. If you are outside Singapore, they will not apply to your location.
Is the Zakat calculation authoritative?+
The calculator is an aid to help you estimate. For your final Zakat obligation, especially in complex situations, consult MUIS or pay through zakat.sg.
Why does the Hijri date sometimes differ from the MUIS announcement?+
Our calendar uses the computed Umm al-Qura calendar, while MUIS confirms key dates by moon sighting. Around the start of Ramadan, Syawal, and Zulhijjah, always follow the official MUIS announcement.
Do you store any of my data?+
No. There are no accounts and no server. Your theme preference and bookmarks are saved only in your own browser.
The Qibla compass seems off — why?+
Phone compasses are affected by magnetic interference (metal, electronics, cases). Calibrate by moving your phone in a figure-8, or use the fixed bearing shown on the page with a physical compass.
