وَٱلصَّٰٓفَّٰتِ صَفࣰّ ا﴿1﴾

37:1By those [angels] lined up in rows

فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجۡرࣰ ا﴿2﴾

37:2And those who drive [the clouds]

فَٱلتَّٰلِيَٰتِ ذِكۡرًا﴿3﴾

37:3And those who recite the message

إِنَّ إِلَٰهَكُمۡ لَوَٰحِدࣱ‏﴿4﴾

37:4Indeed, your God is One

رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ﴿5﴾

37:5Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises

إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلۡكَوَاكِبِ﴿6﴾

37:6Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars

وَحِفۡظࣰ ا مِّن كُلِّ شَيۡطَٰنࣲ مَّارِدࣲ‏﴿7﴾

37:7And as protection against every rebellious devil

لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡمَلَإِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ وَيُقۡذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبࣲ‏﴿8﴾

37:8[So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side

دُحُورࣰ اۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ وَاصِبٌ﴿9﴾

37:9Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment

إِلَّا مَنۡ خَطِفَ ٱلۡخَطۡفَةَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابࣱ ثَاقِبࣱ‏﴿10﴾

37:10Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]

فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَهُمۡ أَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا أَم مَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَآۚ إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَٰهُم مِّن طِينࣲ لَّازِبِۭ﴿11﴾

37:11Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay

بَلۡ عَجِبۡتَ وَيَسۡخَرُونَ﴿12﴾

37:12But you wonder, while they mock

وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُواْ لَا يَذۡكُرُونَ﴿13﴾

37:13And when they are reminded, they remember not

وَإِذَا رَأَوۡاْ ءَايَةࣰ يَسۡتَسۡخِرُونَ﴿14﴾

37:14And when they see a sign, they ridicule

وَقَالُوٓاْ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرࣱ مُّبِينٌ﴿15﴾

37:15And say, "This is not but obvious magic

أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰ ا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ﴿16﴾

37:16When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected

أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ﴿17﴾

37:17And our forefathers [as well]

قُلۡ نَعَمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ دَٰخِرُونَ﴿18﴾

37:18Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible

فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجۡرَةࣱ وَٰحِدَةࣱ فَإِذَا هُمۡ يَنظُرُونَ﴿19﴾

37:19It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing

وَقَالُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ﴿20﴾

37:20They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense

هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ﴿21﴾

37:21[They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny

۞ٱحۡشُرُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ وَأَزۡوَٰجَهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡبُدُونَ﴿22﴾

37:22[The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship

مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهۡدُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ﴿23﴾

37:23Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire

وَقِفُوهُمۡۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسۡـُٔولُونَ﴿24﴾

37:24And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned

مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ﴿25﴾

37:25[They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other

بَلۡ هُمُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ مُسۡتَسۡلِمُونَ﴿26﴾

37:26But they, that Day, are in surrender

وَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ﴿27﴾

37:27And they will approach one another blaming each other

قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّكُمۡ كُنتُمۡ تَأۡتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ﴿28﴾

37:28They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right

قَالُواْ بَل لَّمۡ تَكُونُواْ مُؤۡمِنِينَ﴿29﴾

37:29The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers

وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيۡكُم مِّن سُلۡطَٰنِۭۖ بَلۡ كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمࣰ ا طَٰغِينَ﴿30﴾

37:30And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people

فَحَقَّ عَلَيۡنَا قَوۡلُ رَبِّنَآۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ﴿31﴾

37:31So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]

فَأَغۡوَيۡنَٰكُمۡ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَٰوِينَ﴿32﴾

37:32And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators

فَإِنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذࣲ فِي ٱلۡعَذَابِ مُشۡتَرِكُونَ﴿33﴾

37:33So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ﴿34﴾

37:34Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals

إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوٓاْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ﴿35﴾

37:35Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant

وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓاْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرࣲ مَّجۡنُونِۭ﴿36﴾

37:36And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet

بَلۡ جَآءَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ﴿37﴾

37:37Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers

إِنَّكُمۡ لَذَآئِقُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَلِيمِ﴿38﴾

37:38Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment

وَمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ﴿39﴾

37:39And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ﴿40﴾

37:40But not the chosen servants of Allah

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ رِزۡقࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ‏﴿41﴾

37:41Those will have a provision determined

فَوَٰكِهُ وَهُم مُّكۡرَمُونَ﴿42﴾

37:42Fruits; and they will be honored

فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ﴿43﴾

37:43In gardens of pleasure

عَلَىٰ سُرُرࣲ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ﴿44﴾

37:44On thrones facing one another

يُطَافُ عَلَيۡهِم بِكَأۡسࣲ مِّن مَّعِينِۭ﴿45﴾

37:45There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring

بَيۡضَآءَ لَذَّةࣲ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ﴿46﴾

37:46White and delicious to the drinkers

لَا فِيهَا غَوۡلࣱ وَلَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا يُنزَفُونَ﴿47﴾

37:47No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated

وَعِندَهُمۡ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ عِينࣱ‏﴿48﴾

37:48And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes

كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيۡضࣱ مَّكۡنُونࣱ‏﴿49﴾

37:49As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected

فَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ﴿50﴾

37:50And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other

قَالَ قَآئِلࣱ مِّنۡهُمۡ إِنِّي كَانَ لِي قَرِينࣱ‏﴿51﴾

37:51A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth]

يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُصَدِّقِينَ﴿52﴾

37:52Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe

أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰ ا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ﴿53﴾

37:53That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed

قَالَ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ﴿54﴾

37:54He will say, "Would you [care to] look

فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِي سَوَآءِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ﴿55﴾

37:55And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire

قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرۡدِينِ﴿56﴾

37:56He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me

وَلَوۡلَا نِعۡمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِينَ﴿57﴾

37:57If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]

أَفَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ﴿58﴾

37:58Then, are we not to die

إِلَّا مَوۡتَتَنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ﴿59﴾

37:59Except for our first death, and we will not be punished

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ﴿60﴾

37:60Indeed, this is the great attainment

لِمِثۡلِ هَٰذَا فَلۡيَعۡمَلِ ٱلۡعَٰمِلُونَ﴿61﴾

37:61For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work

أَذَٰلِكَ خَيۡرࣱ نُّزُلًا أَمۡ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ﴿62﴾

37:62Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum

إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَٰهَا فِتۡنَةࣰ لِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ﴿63﴾

37:63Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers

إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةࣱ تَخۡرُجُ فِيٓ أَصۡلِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ﴿64﴾

37:64Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire

طَلۡعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ﴿65﴾

37:65Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils

فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَأٓكِلُونَ مِنۡهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ﴿66﴾

37:66And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies

ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا لَشَوۡبࣰ ا مِّنۡ حَمِيمࣲ‏﴿67﴾

37:67Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water

ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرۡجِعَهُمۡ لَإِلَى ٱلۡجَحِيمِ﴿68﴾

37:68Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire

إِنَّهُمۡ أَلۡفَوۡاْ ءَابَآءَهُمۡ ضَآلِّينَ﴿69﴾

37:69Indeed they found their fathers astray

فَهُمۡ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمۡ يُهۡرَعُونَ﴿70﴾

37:70So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps

وَلَقَدۡ ضَلَّ قَبۡلَهُمۡ أَكۡثَرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ﴿71﴾

37:71And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples

وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ﴿72﴾

37:72And We had already sent among them warners

فَٱنظُرۡ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ﴿73﴾

37:73Then look how was the end of those who were warned

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ﴿74﴾

37:74But not the chosen servants of Allah

وَلَقَدۡ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحࣱ فَلَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمُجِيبُونَ﴿75﴾

37:75And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders

وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ﴿76﴾

37:76And We saved him and his family from the great affliction

وَجَعَلۡنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلۡبَاقِينَ﴿77﴾

37:77And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth]

وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ﴿78﴾

37:78And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations

سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحࣲ فِي ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ﴿79﴾

37:79Peace upon Noah among the worlds

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ﴿80﴾

37:80Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ﴿81﴾

37:81Indeed, he was of Our believing servants

ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ﴿82﴾

37:82Then We drowned the disbelievers

۞وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ﴿83﴾

37:83And indeed, among his kind was Abraham

إِذۡ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلۡبࣲ سَلِيمٍ﴿84﴾

37:84When he came to his Lord with a sound heart

إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعۡبُدُونَ﴿85﴾

37:85[And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship

أَئِفۡكًا ءَالِهَةࣰ دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ﴿86﴾

37:86Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire

فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ﴿87﴾

37:87Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds

فَنَظَرَ نَظۡرَةࣰ فِي ٱلنُّجُومِ﴿88﴾

37:88And he cast a look at the stars

فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَقِيمࣱ‏﴿89﴾

37:89And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill

فَتَوَلَّوۡاْ عَنۡهُ مُدۡبِرِينَ﴿90﴾

37:90So they turned away from him, departing

فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمۡ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ﴿91﴾

37:91Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat

مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنطِقُونَ﴿92﴾

37:92What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak

فَرَاغَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ضَرۡبَۢا بِٱلۡيَمِينِ﴿93﴾

37:93And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand

فَأَقۡبَلُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ يَزِفُّونَ﴿94﴾

37:94Then the people came toward him, hastening

قَالَ أَتَعۡبُدُونَ مَا تَنۡحِتُونَ﴿95﴾

37:95He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve

وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ﴿96﴾

37:96While Allah created you and that which you do

قَالُواْ ٱبۡنُواْ لَهُۥ بُنۡيَٰنࣰ ا فَأَلۡقُوهُ فِي ٱلۡجَحِيمِ﴿97﴾

37:97They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire

فَأَرَادُواْ بِهِۦ كَيۡدࣰ ا فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِينَ﴿98﴾

37:98And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased

وَقَالَ إِنِّي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّي سَيَهۡدِينِ﴿99﴾

37:99And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me

رَبِّ هَبۡ لِي مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ﴿100﴾

37:100My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous

فَبَشَّرۡنَٰهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ حَلِيمࣲ‏﴿101﴾

37:101So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy

فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعۡيَ قَالَ يَٰبُنَيَّ إِنِّيٓ أَرَىٰ فِي ٱلۡمَنَامِ أَنِّيٓ أَذۡبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرۡ مَاذَا تَرَىٰۚ قَالَ يَٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفۡعَلۡ مَا تُؤۡمَرُۖ سَتَجِدُنِيٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ﴿102﴾

37:102And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast

فَلَمَّآ أَسۡلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلۡجَبِينِ﴿103﴾

37:103And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead

وَنَٰدَيۡنَٰهُ أَن يَٰٓإِبۡرَٰهِيمُ﴿104﴾

37:104We called to him, "O Abraham

قَدۡ صَدَّقۡتَ ٱلرُّءۡيَآۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ﴿105﴾

37:105You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡبَلَٰٓؤُاْ ٱلۡمُبِينُ﴿106﴾

37:106Indeed, this was the clear trial

وَفَدَيۡنَٰهُ بِذِبۡحٍ عَظِيمࣲ‏﴿107﴾

37:107And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice

وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ﴿108﴾

37:108And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations

سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ﴿109﴾

37:109Peace upon Abraham

كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ﴿110﴾

37:110Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ﴿111﴾

37:111Indeed, he was of Our believing servants

وَبَشَّرۡنَٰهُ بِإِسۡحَٰقَ نَبِيࣰّ ا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ﴿112﴾

37:112And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous

وَبَٰرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسۡحَٰقَۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحۡسِنࣱ وَظَالِمࣱ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ مُبِينࣱ‏﴿113﴾

37:113And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself

وَلَقَدۡ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ﴿114﴾

37:114And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron

وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُمَا وَقَوۡمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ﴿115﴾

37:115And We saved them and their people from the great affliction

وَنَصَرۡنَٰهُمۡ فَكَانُواْ هُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ﴿116﴾

37:116And We supported them so it was they who overcame

وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمَا ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَبِينَ﴿117﴾

37:117And We gave them the explicit Scripture

وَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ﴿118﴾

37:118And We guided them on the straight path

وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمَا فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ﴿119﴾

37:119And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations

سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ﴿120﴾

37:120Peace upon Moses and Aaron

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ﴿121﴾

37:121Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

إِنَّهُمَا مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ﴿122﴾

37:122Indeed, they were of Our believing servants

وَإِنَّ إِلۡيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ﴿123﴾

37:123And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers

إِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ﴿124﴾

37:124When he said to his people, "Will you not fear Allah

أَتَدۡعُونَ بَعۡلࣰ ا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلۡخَٰلِقِينَ﴿125﴾

37:125Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators

ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمۡ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ﴿126﴾

37:126Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ﴿127﴾

37:127And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment]

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ﴿128﴾

37:128Except the chosen servants of Allah

وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ﴿129﴾

37:129And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations

سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلۡ يَاسِينَ﴿130﴾

37:130Peace upon Elias

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ﴿131﴾

37:131Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ﴿132﴾

37:132Indeed, he was of Our believing servants

وَإِنَّ لُوطࣰ ا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ﴿133﴾

37:133And indeed, Lot was among the messengers

إِذۡ نَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ أَجۡمَعِينَ﴿134﴾

37:134[So mention] when We saved him and his family, all

إِلَّا عَجُوزࣰ ا فِي ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ﴿135﴾

37:135Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers]

ثُمَّ دَمَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ﴿136﴾

37:136Then We destroyed the others

وَإِنَّكُمۡ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيۡهِم مُّصۡبِحِينَ﴿137﴾

37:137And indeed, you pass by them in the morning

وَبِٱلَّيۡلِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ﴿138﴾

37:138And at night. Then will you not use reason

وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ﴿139﴾

37:139And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers

إِذۡ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ﴿140﴾

37:140[Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship

فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُدۡحَضِينَ﴿141﴾

37:141And he drew lots and was among the losers

فَٱلۡتَقَمَهُ ٱلۡحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمࣱ‏﴿142﴾

37:142Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy

فَلَوۡلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحِينَ﴿143﴾

37:143And had he not been of those who exalt Allah

لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطۡنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَ﴿144﴾

37:144He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected

۞فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُ بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمࣱ‏﴿145﴾

37:145But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill

وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ شَجَرَةࣰ مِّن يَقۡطِينࣲ‏﴿146﴾

37:146And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine

وَأَرۡسَلۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِاْئَةِ أَلۡفٍ أَوۡ يَزِيدُونَ﴿147﴾

37:147And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more

فَـَٔامَنُواْ فَمَتَّعۡنَٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ حِينࣲ‏﴿148﴾

37:148And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time

فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلۡبَنُونَ﴿149﴾

37:149So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons

أَمۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَٰثࣰ ا وَهُمۡ شَٰهِدُونَ﴿150﴾

37:150Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses

أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنۡ إِفۡكِهِمۡ لَيَقُولُونَ﴿151﴾

37:151Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say

وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَكَٰذِبُونَ﴿152﴾

37:152Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars

أَصۡطَفَى ٱلۡبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلۡبَنِينَ﴿153﴾

37:153Has He chosen daughters over sons

مَا لَكُمۡ كَيۡفَ تَحۡكُمُونَ﴿154﴾

37:154What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement

أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ﴿155﴾

37:155Then will you not be reminded

أَمۡ لَكُمۡ سُلۡطَٰنࣱ مُّبِينࣱ‏﴿156﴾

37:156Or do you have a clear authority

فَأۡتُواْ بِكِتَٰبِكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ﴿157﴾

37:157Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful

وَجَعَلُواْ بَيۡنَهُۥ وَبَيۡنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ نَسَبࣰ اۚ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمَتِ ٱلۡجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ﴿158﴾

37:158And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]

سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ﴿159﴾

37:159Exalted is Allah above what they describe

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ﴿160﴾

37:160Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]

فَإِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ﴿161﴾

37:161So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship

مَآ أَنتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ بِفَٰتِنِينَ﴿162﴾

37:162You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him

إِلَّا مَنۡ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ﴿163﴾

37:163Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire

وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ‏﴿164﴾

37:164[The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position

وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ﴿165﴾

37:165And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]

وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحُونَ﴿166﴾

37:166And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah

وَإِن كَانُواْ لَيَقُولُونَ﴿167﴾

37:167And indeed, the disbelievers used to say

لَوۡ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكۡرࣰ ا مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ﴿168﴾

37:168If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples

لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ﴿169﴾

37:169We would have been the chosen servants of Allah

فَكَفَرُواْ بِهِۦۖ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ﴿170﴾

37:170But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know

وَلَقَدۡ سَبَقَتۡ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ﴿171﴾

37:171And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers

إِنَّهُمۡ لَهُمُ ٱلۡمَنصُورُونَ﴿172﴾

37:172[That] indeed, they would be those given victory

وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ﴿173﴾

37:173And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome

فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِينࣲ‏﴿174﴾

37:174So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time

وَأَبۡصِرۡهُمۡ فَسَوۡفَ يُبۡصِرُونَ﴿175﴾

37:175And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ﴿176﴾

37:176Then for Our punishment are they impatient

فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمۡ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ﴿177﴾

37:177But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned

وَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِينࣲ‏﴿178﴾

37:178And leave them for a time

وَأَبۡصِرۡ فَسَوۡفَ يُبۡصِرُونَ﴿179﴾

37:179And see, for they are going to see

سُبۡحَٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلۡعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ﴿180﴾

37:180Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe

وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ﴿181﴾

37:181And peace upon the messengers

وَٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ﴿182﴾

37:182And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds
